EUGENE, Ore. – The Carroll Women's Basketball team lost to the University in Oregon 88-57 in an exhibition game at Matthew Knight arena on Sunday afternoon.
The Ducks got off to a hot start in the first quarter, opening the game on a 17-3 run. Carroll started to climb back a little bit, trailing 29-15 heading into the second.
The Saints were able to cut the deficit to eight points in the second quarter, but Oregon got it back to a 15-point lead. The score was 46-31 at the half.
Oregon outscored Carroll 42-26 in the second half, as they cruised to an 88-57 win.
Jamie Pickens led the Saints in scoring with a team-high 12 points.
Jaidyn Lyman, who got the start today, was right behind with 11 points of her own.
Nyara Sabally was the leading scorer for the Ducks with a game-high 15 points.
The fifth-ranked Saints, who still hold a 14-2 record, will travel back to Helena and begin preparation for this coming week's return to conference play. They will host Montana Tech on Thursday night and Rocky Mountain College on Saturday afternoon.
