HELENA, Mont. – The Carroll College Men's Basketball continued their momentum in Frontier Conference play Saturday afternoon by defeating MSU-Northern 61-45.
Both teams were off to a slow start in the first ten minutes of the game, which resulted in a low scoring halftime score of 26-24 with Northern in the lead.
The Saints came out of the locker room playing with a lot of energy, leading to an 18-4 run to start the second half. This put the Saints up 42-30 and proved to be the difference as the Saints held the Lights at that distance for the remainder of the game.
The Saints were led in scoring again by Jovan Sljivancanin (15 points), Ifeanyi Okeke (15 points) and Shamrock Campbell (10 points). Sljivancinin added 13 rebounds to his total, while Okeke added 7 rebounds.
Mascio McCadney led the Lights with 14 points on 5-12 shooting from the field.
The Saints improve to 18-2 overall and 5-1 in the Frontier Conference, which holds them atop the league standings. Montana State Northern drops to 15-6 overall and 3-3 in Frontier Conference play.
Carroll will play Thursday night at the PE Center in Helena against Montana Western at 7:00 p.m..
