SPOKANE, Wash. - The Carroll College women's soccer team came out on the losing side of a 3-2 battle with Whitworth University this afternoon in Spokane, Wash.
The Saints two goals came off the foot of Blaire Stapelton, a junior midfielder from Billings, Mont.. The first tied the game at 1-1 and was assisted by Katie Martin.Â
The second goal from Stapleton gave the Saints an early 2-1 lead in the 15th minute.Â
Whitworth then scored at the end of the first half to tie the game at two and then again towards the beginning of the second half in the 54th minute.Â
Once the Pirates got the lead back, they were able to hold strong and secure the victory over the Saints.
Saturday was the Saints first regular season game this year and they will stay in Spokane to play again on Sunday against University of Puget Sound.
