HELENA, Mont -- The Carroll College women's soccer team suffered their first Cascade Conference loss Sunday afternoon at Nelson Stadium against the Corban Warriors by a score of 3-0.

Corban was able to jump out to a quick lead with a goal by Maria-Frances Serrant in the 7th minute of play. 

After that, the Saints were able to hold an even match with Corban and stay in contention until Serrant found the net again in the 82nd minute.

Then in the 83rd minute Klarissa Barajas put the game out of reach with a goal that put Corban up 3-0. 

Carroll did outshoot Corban 19-13 and put more balls on target (8-7) than the Warriors, but thanks to stubborn goalkeeping by Makida Herbert, the Warriors held the Saints scoreless. 

Corban improves to 5-0 overall and 1-0 in conference, while the Saints drop to 1-1 in conference and 2-3 overall. 

Carroll will set its sights on a pair of evening games in Portland Friday and Saturday against Multnomah and Warner Pacific, trying to move to 3-1 in Cascade Conference play.
