Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Carroll Men's Soccer falls to No. 23 Corban in tight battle

HELENA, Mont. -- The Carroll College men's soccer team suffered their first Cascade Conference loss of the season on Sunday afternoon at Nelson Stadium to the 23rd ranked Corban Warriors by a score of 2-1.

Early on, Matheus Giron netted a 15th minute goal for the Warriors, pushing them ahead 1-0.

Rory Bloy responded at the beginning of the second half with a goal of his own to level the Saints and Warriors at one with nearly forty minutes to play.

Giron however continued to hurt the Saints assisting Corban's 77th minute goal finished by Alvaro Arche, which proved to be the winning goal for the Warriors.

Kaden Connor had a great game in goal for the Saints with six of his seven saves coming in the second half.

The Saints were able to hold pace with Corban thanks to their 13 shots (6 on goal) to Corban's 19 shots (9 on goal), but unfortunately could not find the net on a couple of close opportunities.

The Saints now drop to 1-3 overall on the season and 1-1 in conference while Corban improves to 2-0 in conference and 3-2 overall.

The Saints now turn to a pair of games in Portland against Multnomah and Warner Pacific, hoping to improve to 3-1 in conference and solidify their position at the top of the Cascade Conference table.
