HAVRE, Mont. – The Carroll College Fighting Saints played a pair of Volleyball matches Friday in Havre, Montana in the Frontier Conference Tune-Up.
In the late morning session, the Saints unfortunately suffered a 3-0 sweep at the hands of the 10
th ranked Providence Argos.
In the first game, Providence cruised to 25-19 and 25-13 in the first two sets.
In the third set, the Saints hung tight, but still fell short in a 25-23 battle to finish the sweep for the Argos.
The Argos attack was led by Sadie Lott (14 kills) and Jenna Thorne (11 kills), helped by the high-level setting from Cydney Finberg-Roberts (26 assists).
The Saints were led by
Taelyr Krantz had 11 kills and five blocks.
In the second game, the Saints took on Rocky who is now 8-8 on the season so far.
The Saints jumped out to an early two sets to none lead with narrow wins of 25-20 and 25-22 respectively.
The Bears then took the next three sets by the closest margin possible with 25-23, 25-23, 16-14 set victories.
Carroll was led by stellar performances from
Elizabeth Heuiser (22 kills),
Julia Carr (32 digs) and
Kylie Kackman (26 assists).
Rocky was able to respond with performances from Kyra Oakland (22 kills), Emma Fox (33 assists), and Ayla Embry (32 digs).
The Saints are now 7-7 on the season and look to get back on track tomorrow with games at 11 A.M. against MSU-Northern and 5 P.M. against Montana Tech.
