HELENA, Mont. – Carroll College head volleyball coach Moe Boyle has announced the remainder of her 2021 signees. Avery Kelly, Maggie Todd, Britlyn Mailey, Isabella Sweet, Kiya Jackson, and Marlisa Meijerink will all be joining the Saints' program this fall. This second group of signees includes three from Montana, one from California, one from Oregon, and one from Florida.

Now let's meet the newest Saints:

Avery Kelly / MH / Butte, Mont. / 5-foot-9

Avery Kelly joins the Carroll Volleyball program from Butte Central Catholic High School. She was an all-conference talent at the high school level and had her fair share of academic accomplishments to go with. Kelly was on the honor roll, a member of the national honors society, four-time academic all-state, and won Montana Standard Student of the Year. She is the daughter of Brodie and Nikole Kelly, and is undecided on a major.

"What has stood out to me most during the recruiting process is how kind and welcoming all of the coaches and team have been," Kelly said. "It tells me a lot about Carroll's nature."

"Avery is extremely athletic. She can jump out of the gym," Boyle said. "She has shown us lots of potential and we believe her best volleyball is ahead of her."

Maggie Todd / OH / Polson, Mont. / 5-foot-9

Todd is an explosive outside hitter from Polson High School. On the court, she was voted first team all-state two years and was recognized as Most Valuable Offensive Player in 2021. Off the court, Todd was a four-year recipient of the presidential award. Maggie is the daughter of Steve and Jill Todd, and is interested in getting involved in the field of environmental science.

"We are excited to bring Maggie in," Boyle said. "She is a Montana native with a very high ceiling due to the level of athleticism that she brings to the team. In addition to that, she is a great student."

"I chose Carroll because I like the academic and athletic programs and the campus is beautiful," Todd said. "Additionally I have family in Helena, who are Carroll alums, and it is fairly close to home."

Britlyn Mailey / DS / Bozeman, Mont. / 5-foot-5

Britlyn Mailey comes to Carroll from just down the road in Bozeman. In her time as a Bozeman Hawk, Mailey was a three-year captain for her team. She was a great leader for her team and served as the anchor on their back line. She is interested in a career as a physical therapist and is the daughter of Dale and Jodi Mailey.

"Britlyn is truly a floor general," Boyle said. "She is a quality defensive player and has leadership skills on and off the court that will help our team."

"Carroll has a beautiful campus along with the most welcoming staff and students," Mailey said. "Everyone that I have talked to who is attending or has attended Carroll talks about how much of a community it is."

Isabella Sweet / DS / Palm Beach, Fla. / 5-foot-7

Isabella Sweet will make her way all the way up to Helena from the sunshine state. Sweet, who is a very talented and versatile defensive specialist, was a two-time team MVP on her high school team and received the all-star award for her club team at the AAU National Tournament. Sweet was also a member of National Honors Society and plans to study biology on the pre-med track when she gets to college. She is the daughter of James and Yvonne Sweet.

"We love the different skills that Isabella has in her arsenal," Boyle said. "She played all around the court in high school, has a high court IQ, she is versatile and very competitive."

"I chose Carroll College because I believe it will help prepare me to find a career within the medical field," Sweet said. "At a school with a low student to faculty ratio, I will have the opportunity to engage more with my professors and receive more individual help if needed."

Kiya Jackson / MH / Medford, Ore. / 6-foot-2

Jackson is a middle hitter from Medford, Ore., who makes her presence known at the net with her height and athletic ability. At the high school level, Jackson received honorable mention and all-tournament honors. She was also a member of the national honors society, graduated in the top 10 percent of her class, and made it onto the honor roll. Kiya is the daughter of Damian and Sherry Jackson.

"I am excited to see Kiya's career unfold at Carroll," Boyle said. "Her best volleyball is ahead of her and I am anxious to coach her and see what she can contribute to the program."

Marlisa Meijerink / OH / La Habra, Calif. / 5-foot-11

Meijerink joins the Saints as the lone member of the 2021 class from California. In high school, Marlisa was a six rotation player and has the ability to make a difference in many different ways. She is the daughter of Cor and Kathleen Meijerink and thrived on and off the court leading to recognition as a scholar athlete.

"Marlisa was a six rotation player in high school so we are looking forward to seeing how she can help our team," Boyle said. "She sought out Carroll as a future nursing student and she is a very good student."

"I chose Carroll based off the opportunities Carroll offers through their nursing program and how well the program prepares students to become nurses," Meijerink said. "Another reason is I am able to further my volleyball career with a coach who believes that academics come first but also putting 100 percent into everything we do."
