SIOUX CITY, Iowa -- Carroll College Football is back in the playoffs for the first time since 2014, as they head to Sioux City, Iowa to take on the No. 1 Morningside Mustangs.

The Saints finished their regular season schedule last weekend with a 28-19 win over No. 6 College of Idaho to clinch a share of the Frontier Conference Championship and an automatic bid to the NAIA Football Championship Series (FCS).

Sophomore running back
Matthew Burgess has been the key ingredient to Carroll's offense this season. After making an appearance on the Frontier Conference All-Conference First Team as a freshman in 2019, Burgess is having quite the encore in his second season with the program. He currently ranks first in the NAIA in rushing yards per game, averaging 149 yards on the ground through four games.

Carroll enters the NAIA FCS as the 16
th seed in their second season under Head Coach
Troy Purcell and face a tall task in Morningside, who are winners of 37 straight games and the last two NAIA National Championships.

The Mustangs played their season in the fall, going 8-0 and winning the Great Plains Athletic Conference. They are atop the national leader-boards in pass offense per game (366.9 YPG), and scoring offense per game (51.6 PPG).
Kick off is scheduled for 12 p.m. MST at Bishop Heelan Memorial Field.
