Box Score 2 KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. -- The Carroll College Fighting Saints Softball team split a double-header at No. 5 Oregon Tech on Friday afternoon. The Saints took down the fifth-ranked Owls in the first game 5-2 in an 11-inning thriller. The Owls got back at the Saints in the second game, winning by a final score of 4-0.

In the first game, the Saints came out of the gate swinging. Sophomore Catcher
Anna Davidson gave Carroll a 2-0 lead to start things off on an RBI single.

Oregon Tech followed that up with a solo homerun to cut it to a 2-1 score.
Â
Another solo homerun by the Owls in the bottom of the sixth inning evened the score at 2-2, heading into what would normally be the final frame.

Inning after inning, both teams attempted to break the tie, but neither could get a run across. That was until the top of the 11
th, when the Saints decided it was time to secure a road victory.

Sophomore outfielder,
Sarah Conway, reopened the scoring when she crossed home on a
Katie Huisman single to put Carroll up 3-2. The Saints went on to score two more runs on a
Jessica Nimmo two-RBI single in the 11
th and win the game 5-2.

Carroll finished the first game with an impressive 14 hits.

In the second game, Owls' pitcher McKenzie Staub was in the zone, as she tossed 7 scoreless innings to help OIT earn the Friday split.

OIT jumped out to a 2-0 lead after three innings, and didn't look back the rest of the afternoon.

Carroll fought to come back, but were kept at bay by the Owls, with the game ending in a 4-0 final score.

After today's action, the Saints are now 12-23 this season and 7-13 in CCC play with seven conference games left on the calendar. No. 5 Oregon Tech is now 30-6 this year and 15-5 in the Cascade.
