GREAT FALLS, Mont. -- The Carroll Volleyball team lost their first match of the weekend against Providence in Great Falls on Friday night, 3-2. 

Carroll opened the match with a hot start. They jumped on the Argos early, taking the first set by a score of 25-20. 

In the second set, the Argos were out to get revenge and even the score. Providence took set two 25-21.

With the match even at 1-1, momentum was for the taking. It was Providence who took advantage and defeated the Saints in the third set 25-16.

The Saints had their backs against the wall in the fourth set, as Providence had the chance to put it away. Carroll was able to fight back and even the score to force a fifth set.

With the score even and the win for the taking, it was the Argos who closed out the fifth set on top, winning it 15-8. 

The Saints' attack was led by Taelyr Krantz, a junior from Helena, Mont. Krantz finished with 14 kills.

For Providence, Sacha Legros, a senior from Verviers, Belgium, put together an outstanding game with 40 digs. 

The Saints, now 7-4 on the year, will square off with the 9-2 Argos again Saturday at 1 p.m.
