CALDWELL, Idaho -- The Carroll Fighting Saints Softball team lost both games in a double-header at College of Idaho on Friday. The final score of the first game was 6-1 and the final of the second game was 10-2.

In the first game, it was a hard fought battle most of the way. College of Idaho scored on a Carroll error in the bottom of the second to take a 1-0 lead. After a couple of quiet innings, the Saints equalized. Sarah Jenkins stepped up to the plate in the top of the fifth inning and hit a single that drove in Sarah Conway to tie the game. Just one inning later, the Yotes rallied for five runs to take a 6-1 lead and put the game out of reach.

College of Idaho managed to carry the hot bats into game two, after their big rally to close out the first game. After three frames, C of I held a 7-0 lead. Carroll was able to get on the board in the top of the fourth inning. Emma Hamilton knocked a two-run shot out of the park, scoring Amber Brewer to cut it to 7-2. In the end, the Rotes added some insurance, winning the game 10-2.

Carroll, now 6-15 on the season, will play College of Idaho (now 21-7) in another double-header on Saturday. The games will be played at 12 and 2 p.m. MST, and only the first of them will count as a conference game.
