BILLINGS, Mont. -- The Carroll College Men's Soccer team suffered their second loss of the season to Rocky Mountain College 2-1 on Monday afternoon in Billings.
Early in the match, both teams were struggling to find the back of the net. That was until the 45th minute, just before half time, when Sky Swenson of Rocky scored a goal on an assist by Jonah Gronmayer to put the Bears up 1-0 going into the break.
Right out of the gate in the second half, Rocky was able to add to their lead due to an own goal off of a deflection by the Saints in the 49th minute, making it a 2-0 score.Â
For the remainder of the game, Carroll put together a number of chances in an effort to form a comeback. In the 57th minute,
Luke Rosenberger set up
Javier Rodriguez for a goal to cut the deficit to just one goal.Â
Rocky was able to hold on defensively for the remaining 33 minutes and escape with a victory.
The Saints will be back in action next weekend as they take on the Providence Argos on Monday and Tuesday at 2 p.m.
