HELENA, Mont. -- The Carroll College Men's Basketball team will face off with Providence in Great Falls Tuesday night at 7 p.m. for the Frontier Conference Championship.
In the semi-final round of the Frontier Conference Playoffs, Carroll took down Montana Tech 67-62 to punch their ticket to the final. On the other side of the bracket, University of Providence held off MSU Northern 63-56 at home in Great Falls to secure a spot in the championship game.Â
Monday's championship game will mark the fifth time this season that the Saints and the Argos have played each other. Back on the 9th and 10th of January, Carroll made the trip to Great Falls for back-to-back games and ended up suffering nine point losses in both games. Then, on February 13th and 14th, the Saints hosted the Argos and split the two meetings. Providence won game one 80-69 and the Saints took care of business in game two 74-68.
Entering Tuesday night's game, the Saints are 17-6 on the year and the Argos are 16-2.Â
Jovan Sljivancanin, a junior guard from Belgrade, Serbia, is the leading scorer for the Saints this year averaging just over 18 points per game. Sljivancanin scored 15 points and added nine rebounds in the Frontier Conference semi-final win over Tech.
For Providence, their leading scorer is Zaccheus Darko-Kelly, a senior forward from Great Falls, Mont. Darko-Kelly is averaging 18.5 points per game and scored a team high 18 points with nine rebounds in their semi-final victory against MSU Northern.Â
