HELENA, Mont. -- The Carroll Fighting Saints' Softball Team is all set to play their first opening series against Eastern Oregon at Centennial Park this weekend. The Saints and Mountaineers will play a double-header on Friday at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., and again on Saturday at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. The first three games will be counted as Cascade Conference games.

The Saints are 2-9 on the season, and 0-3 in conference play, after getting swept in a triple-header last weekend at No. 23 Corban. They will look to get their first conference wins against the Mountaineers who are currently 5-9 on the year.

These two teams met earlier this year in non-conference games, with the Mountaineers winning both games by final scores of 15-10 and 10-1.

Jessica Nimmo, a junior from Las Vegas, Nev., has been leading the way for the Saints' offense early on in the season batting .371 and slugging .571 through 11 games.
