Carroll Men's Basketball gets back in the win column, beats Providence

HELENA, Mont. -- The Carroll Men's Basketball Team got back into the win column on Sunday afternoon, defeating Providence 74-68 at the PE Center.

In the first half, the Saints didn't get off to the start that they had hoped for. They faced a 22-13 deficit before cutting it to a 32-28 half time score, in favor of the Argos.

In the second half, however, it was all Saints. Carroll outscored Providence 46-36 in the last 20 minutes of play, propelling them to a 74-68 victory.

Shamrock Campbell, a junior from Spokane, Wash., led the way for the Saints scoring 27 points on 9-14 shooting with 6 free throws in crunch time to help ice the game.

For the Argos, they were led by Zaccheus Darko-Kelly. Darko-Kelly, a senior from Great Falls, tallied 17 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists.

With this victory, Carroll is now 14-6 on the year and 11-5 in conference play. Providence remains in first place in the Frontier Conference with a record of 12-2.

Carroll will wrap up their conference schedule next weekend on the road, taking on Montana Western next Saturday and Sunday.
