DILLON, Mont. – The Carroll Men's Basketball advanced to 12-0 on the season with a 70-60 road win at Montana Western on Saturday night.
Carroll got off to a slow start in the first half against a tough Bulldogs basketball team.
Montana Western led by as many as 11 points late in the first half, but the Saints were able to cut it down to seven after a
Jovan Sljivancanin steal set up an
Ifeanyi Okeke lay up as time expired into half time.
In the second half, the Saints came out firing and kicked off the final 20 minutes of play with a 15-0 run to go up by eight points.
The Bulldogs stuck around, but some clutch offensive rebounds and free throws kept Carroll in the driver's seat the rest of the way en route to a 70-60 win. In total, Carroll outscored Western 39-22 in the second half.
Sljivancanin finished the game with a game-high 26 points and 16 rebounds. Okeke posted a monster line as well with 16 points and seven boards on 8-11 shooting.
Jamal Stephenson, who scored 22, and Jalen Hodges, who scored 19, were the scoring leaders for Montana Western.
Carroll is now 12-0 this season and 2-0 in conference play. Western, on the other hand is now 9-5 with a conference record of 0-2.
The Saints will now have a couple weeks to rest up and practice before returning to action on December 17
th against Arizona Christian for their first game of the Cactus Classic in Chandler, Arizona.
