HELENA, Mont. – The Carroll Women's Basketball team opens up conference play on Thursday night at the PE Center against MSU-Northern. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m.

Entering conference play, the Fighting Saints currently boast a record of 9-2 and are ranked fifth in the country according to the most recent NAIA Women's Basketball Coaches' Poll.  Last week, they suffered their second loss of the season to No. 3 Thomas More before turning around to beat St. Xavier and Lindsey Wilson who were ranked 15 and 14 respectively.

Senior Guard Danielle Wagner is the leading scorer for the Saints right now, scoring at a clip of 17.3 points per game. She is coming off of a 28-point showing against Lindsey Wilson, which matched her career high, earning her Frontier Conference Player of the Week honors for the third time this year.

Christine Denny and Jamie Pickens are also averaging double digits, each scoring 12.7 points per game.

As a team, Carroll is averaging 79.9 points per game and is holding their opponents to 56.9 points on average.

The Skylights of MSU-Northern come into Thursday night's contest with a record of 3-4. Thursday will be their first game since November 20 when they suffered a six-point defeat to Our Lady of the Lake.

Our Lady of the Lake is one of three opponents that the Saints and Skylights have in common. The two others are Corban and Central Baptist, both of which lost to Carroll and beat Northern.

The Skylights will be led by some familiar faces of the last few seasons in Sydney Hovde, L'Tia Lawrence, and Peyton Kehr.

Thursday night's game will be streamed live on the Fighting Saints Network, sponsored by Point S Tire and Auto Service. Point S is also the sponsor of the game tonight at the PE Center.

You can also tune in to the action on Rewind 94.9 FM or online at KCAP.com under the "Listen Live Sports" tab.
