HELENA, Mont. – Carroll Women's Basketball head coach Rachelle Sayers has announced the signing of Ava Oakland to the 2022 recruiting class.

Oakland is a 5-foot-11 guard from Boise High School in Boise, Idaho. She is in her fourth straight season of varsity basketball, and has helped lead her team to the state tournament in her first three seasons.

So far in her senior campaign, Oakland is averaging 11 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game. She is shooting 59 percent from the field and 47% from three. Ava is also a force on the defensive side of the ball, averaging 1.8 steals per game.

"I really think that everyone on campus seems super close, and like a family," Oakland said on her decision to commit to Carroll. "The environment is somewhere that I could see myself for the next four years."

"She's just a perfect fit for Carroll from an academic perspective, the type of kid she is, and the player that she's going to be," Sayers said. "She can play the three and four position for us, and she can really shoot it."

With the signing of Oakland, the Saints' 2022 recruiting class is now at seven people:
