HAVRE, Mont. – The Carroll Volleyball team closed out their regular season with a road loss to MSU-Northern in four sets.
The first set was very tightly contested by both teams. The Saints were unable to close it out as the Skylights took the set 25-23.
Northern continued their momentum into the second set. The Skylights took a 2-0 lead in the match, winning 25-15 in the second.
Carroll was able to respond and get on the board after that. They won the third set 25-22 and had a chance to even things up going into the fourth.
The fourth set was another tight one, but the Skylights edged out the Saints 25-23 to earn the 3-1 victory.
Lexie Gleasman and
Taelyr Krantz were the top two hitters in the game for the Saints. Each of them finished with 14 kills.
Rylee Burmeister led the way for MSU-Northern with 24 kills.
Carroll will finish the regular season with a record of 12-14 and a conference record of 5-5. They are the number three seed going into the Frontier Conference tournament in Helena next week and will open up postseason play with Montana Western.
