HELENA, Mont. – The Carroll Women's Basketball team took care of business on Wednesday night, defeating Central Baptist College 91-52 at the PE Center.
In the first quarter, the Saints had to navigate through some pressure from the Mustang defense. Eventually, Carroll eased into their comfort zone and took a 18-13 lead into the second quarter.
The second quarter is where the Saints really took off. Carroll outscored Central Baptist 26-9 in the second quarter to set up a 44-22 half-time lead.
Carroll ran away with the game in the second half behind outstanding performances from their three All-Americans in
Christine Denny,
Danielle Wagner, and
Jamie Pickens. The Saints outscored the Mustangs 47-30 in the second half, leading to a 91-52 final score.
Denny led all scorers with 17 points. Wagner and Pickens were right behind her with 17 a piece.
Kyle Olson was the fourth Saint in double-figures with 12 off the bench.
The Saints will play once more this week as they now prepare for a Sunday afternoon game at the PE Center against Corban University. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
