Carroll Men's Basketball stays undefeated, edges out Bushnell in OT

EUGENE, Ore. – The Carroll Men's Basketball team stayed undefeated with a tight 76-71 overtime win over Bushnell University on Friday night.
 
For the second straight weekend, the Saints faced a tough test on the road and were able to respond.
 
Carroll jumped out to a 39-31 lead at half time, but the Beacons would not go down without a fight.
 
With 22 seconds left in the game, Bushnell split a pair of free throws to tie the game and give the ball back to the Saints. Jovan Sljivancanin hit a shot to put Carroll up by two points with four seconds left.
 
The Beacons forced overtime with a runner as time expired, but it was the Saints who were able to prevail with a 76-71 victory.
 
Jovan Sljivancanin put up another monster stat-line to lead the way for Carroll. The senior scored 26 points, 13 of which came at the free throw line, and grabbed 16 rebounds. Brendan Temple added 18 points.
 
Stevie Schlabach led the Beacons in the scoring column with 18 points.
 
Carroll will turn around on Saturday to take on Corban University on the second leg of the Bushnell Classic at 2:30 p.m. MST.
