Box Score HELENA, Mont. - The Carroll College Men's Basketball team defeated the Warriors of Corban University, 53-50 at the Morse Center in Eugene, Oregon Saturday afternoon.
The Saints were able to sneak out of Oregon with their second narrow victory in as many days to remain undefeated on the season.Â
Carroll led a tight contest heading into the halftime break, 24-22, and managed to maintain their slim advantage during the second half. The game came down to the last moments, as Corban had an opportunity for a three-pointer to tie the game at the buzzer, but the shot rattled out and the Saints prevailed.
Neither team was particularly effective from the field, with both teams finishing the game with a field-goal percentage of 37.7 percent. Carroll was able to win the battle on the boards however, out-rebounding Corban 41-32.
The Saints were once again paced by another impressive performance from Senior Forward
Jovan Sljivancanin, who contributed yet another double-double with game-highs in points (15) and rebounds (11).
Brendan Temple had a strong showing as well, posting 13 points and 7 rebounds of his own.
The Warriors were led by Kendall Moore, who finished the game with 11 points and 5 rebounds.
Carroll will return to Helena for the Holiday week before they head down to Logan, Utah for an exhibition contest against NCAA D-1 opponent Utah State on November 29th.
