HELENA, Mont. – Carroll Women's Basketball capped off an exciting day with an 87-57 victory over Our Lady of the Lake Wednesday at the PE Center.
The Saints started their day off by moving up one spot in the latest NAIA top 25 poll to number six in the nation, and took that momentum into a home non-conference tilt. Carroll jumped out to a 19-14 lead after the first quarter.
Carroll continued to ease into a big lead, outscoring Our Lady of the Lake 24-16 in the second quarter to take a 43-30 lead into the half.
The game was blown open in the third quarter as the Saints continued to find good looks on the offensive end. They led by 22 going into the fourth quarter on their way to an 87-57 win.
Jamie Pickens put together a dominant performance, scoring a game-high 22 points and grabbing seven rebounds. Three other Carroll players scored in double figures,
Danielle Wagner and
Maddie Geritz had 12 and
Addi Ekstrom had 11.
Keviona Barber led OLLU in scoring with 16 points on 50 percent shooting.
Carroll, who is now 5-1, will look to continue their momentum into a busy weekend. They will host Whitworth University on Friday night at 7 p.m. before traveling to Billings to face MSU-B on Sunday at 2 p.m.
