BUTTE, Mont. – The Carroll Men's basketball team advanced to 6-0 on the season with a 70-63 win over Oklahoma City Friday night at the Montana Tech Classic.
Early on in the ball game, the Saints showcased their depth with
Shamrock Campbell in foul trouble.
They stitched together a strong first half and kept the stars at bay with strong defense. At half time, Carroll held a 30-23 lead.
The game was tightly contested throughout the second half, but Carroll was able to find their comfort zone. A 7-0 run put the Saints up by eight points with a little over eight minutes remaining.
Carroll went on to defeat the Stars by a final score of 70-63, earning their sixth straight victory.
Jovan Sljivancanin continued his double-double spree tonight, scoring a game-high 24 points and grabbing 15 rebounds.
Ifeanyi Okeke also added a double-double, totaling 16 points and 13 rebounds.
Oklahoma City had three guys finish in double figures. Kori Guest scored 15 while Rashaun Coleman and Ryan Birt each added 14.
Tomorrow evening at 5 p.m., the Saints will play a tough College of Idaho team in the second leg of the Montana Tech Classic. The Yotes are 3-0 and are coming off of a 62-59 win over Montana Tech.
