ASHLAND, Ore. -- Saturday afternoon, the Carroll College Men's Soccer team took home a big double overtime win over the Southern Oregon Raiders in a tight 2-1 battle.
The Saints got the scoring started with a 6th minute goal by Jeronimo Lago Huerta, assisted by
Nick Lowrimore.Â
At the start of the second half, the Raiders put away a 47th minute goal to tie things up at 1 thanks to Adrian Villegas' goal assisted by Luis Navarrete.Â
Carroll was out-shot in the overtime sessions by a combined 10-2, but
Nick Lowrimore finished off his big day by scoring in the 109th minute in a golden goal scenario to give the Saints the walk off victory. Jeronimo Lago Huerta returned the favor on this one with the game winning assist.Â
The Saints were out-shot in this game by a count of 29-17, but were able to make the most of their opportunities by putting 8 on target to Southern Oregon's 7.Â
Kaden Connor also had a big game saving 6 of those 7 shots on target that Southern Oregon tried to put past him.Â
The win puts the Saints at 3-3-2 in the Cascade Conference and slots them in at 7th in the conference table.Â
The loss for the Raiders drops them to 5-2 in the Cascade and drops the Raiders to 4th in the conference table.Â
The Saints look to keep moving up the table at Nelson Stadium next Sunday afternoon against winless Walla Walla.Â
