Carroll Men's Soccer Shuts Out Walla Walla

HELENA, MONT -- The Carroll College men's soccer team came out of Sunday afternoon's contest against Walla Walla victorious, on their home field at Nelson Stadium.

Carroll was able to score early on in the 10th minute thanks to a great cross into the box to Rory Bloy from David Macy. The scoring only continued from there for the Saints.

Bloy notched a hat trick for the Saints in the first 23 minutes with a subsequent put away off an assist from Dade McDevitt, then followed that with a rebound off his own penalty miss for his third of the game to make it 4-0 for the Saints.

Nick Lowrimore had the Saint's third goal off a free kick from outside the 18 yard box and the final goal of the first half was scored by Ryan Quinn, assisted by Jack Bentson

In the second half, Dade McDevitt scored a penalty kick to make it 6-0 and Lowrimore finished again off an assist from Bloy to finish the game off 7-0.

The Saints set the tone early, outshooting Walla Walla 14-2 in the first half, contributing largely to the 23-9 overall shot count in favor of the Saints.

Kaden Connor and Ryan Croft each contributed a half of clean sheet goalkeeping to keep Walla Walla off the scoreboard all afternoon.

This win slots the Saints in at 4-3-2 in conference and consequently puts Carroll into the playoff picture.

The Saints are on the road next weekend in an important road trip to Eastern Oregon and College of Idaho, hoping to solidify their chances to make the postseason.
