CALDWELL, Idaho – The Carroll Men's Soccer team lost a tough one to College of Idaho 3-0 this afternoon in Caldwell.
The stage was set for the Saints and Yotes to go toe-to-toe with major implications for the Cascade Conference table on the line.
College of Idaho struck first in the 16
th minute. A through ball from Marek Kadlec found Ben Garrick and he was able to put it away to give his team a 1-0 lead.
The Saints outshot the Yotes 9-2 in the first half, but C of I kept Carroll at bay and took a 1-0 lead into the break.
In the 53
rd minute, College of Idaho scored again. This time it was Kristian Quiros who drilled a free kick from 28 yards out and extended the lead to 2-0.
College of Idaho was able to sit on their 2-0 lead for a while before scoring the dagger in the 90
th minute. Caio Pereira assisted Kristian Quiros on a corner kick for his second goal of the match.
15 second half shots put the Yotes ahead in the final shot count with 17 total and 10 on target. The Saints finished with 16 shots and six shots on target.
Carroll is ninth in the conference table heading into their final weekend of regular season play. They will play two huge home games next weekend against Providence and Rocky Mountain that will likely decide their postseason fate.
