BILLINGS, Mont. – The Carroll College volleyball team got back in the win column on Friday night, defeating Rocky Mountain College three sets to one on Billings.
The Saints came out with a vengeance early on in the match, as they rolled in the first set by a score of 25-16.
Going into the second, Rocky came battling back. However, the Saints were able to prevail in an intense second set, taking it 34-32.
The Battlin' Bears were able to avoid the sweep in the third set as they handled the Saints 25-17 to force a fourth set.
In the end, Carroll proved to be too much for the Bears. The Saints won the fourth and final set 25-19 to earn their second conference win of the season.
It was a big night at the net for
Lexie Gleasman. She finished with a game-high 18 kills.
Julia Carr was also lights out with 47 digs.
Taelyr Krantz led the Saints with four blocks.
Makenna Bushman had a team-high 14 kills for Rocky. Ayla Embry added 42 digs on the back line.
The Saints are now 9-10 on the year and 2-1 in Frontier Conference play. They will return to the court on Wednesday night to take on the defending conference champions in the Providence Argos.
