Billings, Mont. – A
Guilherme Pedra (Fr, Sao Paulo, Brazil) 3-point field goal, with 0:28 left in overtime, gave the Fighting Saints a 68-64 lead and the breathing room needed to hold off Rocky Mountain College in a 72-67 win, Sunday afternoon. The contest was close throughout with several ties and lead changes. The Battlin' Bears held a 28-26 lead at halftime.
Jovan Sljivancanin (Jr, Belgrade, Serbia) led the Saints in scoring with 22 points, followed by
Shamrock Campbell's (Jr, Spokane, WA) 18 points and
Brendan Temple's (So, Castle Rock, CO) 11 points.
The two games this weekend are the only regular season games Rocky and Carroll will play, as two earlier Frontier Conference contests between the schools were canceled to due to COVID-19 protocols. Sunday's win is Carroll's sixth straight and places the Fighting Saints at 8-4 in Frontier Conference play and 11-5 overall.
Carroll will host Montana Northern Saturday and Sunday, in a Frontier Conference Women's and Men's double header. Game times have been changed: Saturday's tip-off for women will take place at 3:00pm and 5:00pm for men; on Sunday, the women will tip-of at noon followed by the men at 2:00pm.
