HELENA, Mont. -- Carroll Basketball was victorious in both games of Saturday's Frontier Conference double header against Montana State-Northern.
In the first game, the Carroll Women's Basketball Team fell into a quick hole, trailing 7-2 before they propelled to a nine point lead. After that it was no looking back as Carroll held the lead the rest of the way. The Saints won by a final score of 76-67, behind a season best 24 points from Jamie Pickens, a sophomore from Helena. Pickens also had 10 rebounds.
The Carroll Men, on the other hand, extended their winning streak to seven after defeating the Lights by a final score of 77-56. The Saints were in the driver's seat most of the game, but Northern made things interesting in the second half when they cut the deficit to six points. Shortly after that, Jonny Hillman, a sophomore from Post Falls, Idaho, hit a three pointer to extend the lead back to nine. After that, the Saints ran away with it. Jovan Sljivancanin, a junior from Belgrade, Serbia, was the leading scorer with 30 points.
Both teams return to the hardwood Sunday as they host Northern again at 12:00pm and 2:00 pm at the PE Center.
