HELENA, Mont. -- The Carroll College Fighting Saints women's golf team placed second, while the men took fourth at the Carroll College Invite on Tuesday at Bill Roberts Golf Course. 

Rocky Mountain College won the women's tournament with a score of 327. 

The Saints women's team shot 360. Katie Fagg and Caroline Hobson each cracked the Top 5 individually. Fagg shot an 82 to place third, while Hobson carded an 86 to place fourth. 

"I'm happy with the second place finish as a team," Saints coach Bennent MacIntyre said. "I thought we could do much better team scoring-wise, but it was really nice to get Katie and Caroline in the top five." 

Weslee Nehl finished in ninth with an 89, while Echo Anderson shot a 103 and Makenzie Rowan finished with a 106. 

Claire Wright of RMC was the women's individual champion, shooting an even-par 72.

On the men's side, Montana Tech's team won after a playoff hole. The Orediggers and Battlin' Bears finished with team scores of 282, but it was Tech that won a playoff on hole No. 10 to walk away victorious.

The Saints men shot a 328 to finish fourth. 

"I'm very happy with the overall effort today," MacIntyre said. "Everyone improved from the first week."

 Samuel Berry paced the Saints with an even-par 72 to finish in a tie for eighth. 

"While Samuel didn't make Top 5 this week, it was a very solid even-par round for him," MacIntyre said. "It sets up him in a great position for the final two conference events of the season." 

Josh Neth fired a 74 to place 11th overall. 

"Even with early adversity Josh really buckled down to play steady and post a good number for us," MacIntyre said.

Rex Irby added a 78 to take 19th. 

"Rex put forth a great effort to break 80," MacIntyre said. 

Tech's Sean Ramsbacher won the men tournament with a 68, 4-under par.

Up next, the Saints head to Old works in Anaconda, Montana, to tee up against the Frontier Conference.
