TEMPE, Ariz. - The Carroll College Golf teams wrapped up their 2025-26 season on Wednesday afternoon, as the Women took fourth and the Men took sixth place at the Frontier Conference Championships, held at Papago Golf Club.
Following 54 holes of play at Papago, the Carroll Women finished in fourth place with a team score of 1037 (+173), and the Men finished in sixth place in the team portion of the event with a total of 954 (+90).
The early stages of Wednesday's final round were very promising for the Carroll Women. All five players got off to great starts, and by mid-morning the Fighting Saints had ascended to second place on the leaderboard, overtaking Bellevue, who held an eight stroke lead heading into the final round.
Ellie Stastny (Murtaugh, Idaho / SO) recorded back-to-back birdies late in her first nine holes, moving her back to even for the day, and within one stroke of the individual lead.Â
Things went sideways for the Women across the board as the day wore on, however, with some challenging pin locations and Papago's unforgiving desert terrain proving tough to navigate.
All said and done, the Saints placed a pair of players inside the Top-10 of the individual competition. Ellie and her twin sister
Alli Stastny (Murtaugh, Idaho / SO) would finish seventh and eighth, respectively, to lead the way for the Women. Ellie finished at +31 for the week (80-83-84) and Alli was one stroke back at +32 (84-80-84).
Addison Slivinski (Montpelier, Idaho / FR) picked up a Top-20 finish at +56 (90-87-95), while
Stella Claridge (Kalispell, Mont. / SR) closed her four-year career one stroke back in 21st at +57 (91-90-92).
Maddy Olson (Spokane, Wash. / JR) subbed back in for the second day, and rounded out the scoring with a final round 101.
The Carroll Men showed continued improvement throughout the tournament, posting their best total of the week in the final round (+23) en route to a sixth place team finish.
The Men started off the first tee on Wednesday, while the Women began off the back nine. Much like the Women, Papago's outward nine holes proved difficult for the Men. However, the team made up ground in a hurry over the final nine holes, recording nine birdies during a strong finish.
Tanner Cromwell (Anaconda, Mont. / SO) led the way all week long for the Fighting Saints, and rattled-off three back-nine birdies to shoot 78 for the third consecutive round and secure a 16th place finish in the individual portion of the tournament at +18.
Kyle Kennah (Laurel, Mont. / SO) carded the lowest round of the tournament for the Saints, firing a final round 75 to move into a tie for 25th place with teammate
JT Slivinski (Montpelier, Idaho / JR). Both players finished at +24 for the week, and both improved each round (Kennah 85-80-75, Slivinski (82-80-78).
TJ Fierling finished one stroke back of the pair at +25 (84-77-80).
Hudson Reinke (Filer, Idaho / SO) rounded out the Carroll five at +36 for the week (84-87-81), and matched Cromwell with a trio of back-nine birdies.
Rocky Mountain College won both the Men's and Women's Conference titles (Men +10, Women +120), and swept the Medalist honors as well (Kristjan Burkelca -4, Grace Metcalf +23).
