HELENA, Mont. -- The No. 21-ranked Carroll College Fighting Saints hit the road to open their season in Aberdeen, South Dakota, this weekend. The Saints will compete against Presentation and Morningside as part of the Isreal-Strong Classic.

"We picked up two quality games this weekend last minute and we are headed to South Dakota for a classic," Saints coach Kurt Paulson said. "The first weekend of games is key to having a great season start. It will come down to fundamentals. Not trying to play too fast and relying on the things that we practice. Rebounding and defense will be key."

The season starts with a tipoff against Presentation (1-4) on Friday at 6:30 p.m. It will be the Saints' first game since playing in the Frontier Conference Championship on March 9.

On Saturday, the Saints face a tall order in No. 7-ranked Morningside (2-1) at 2 p.m. The Mustangs have posted winning seasons in 14 of the last 17 seasons.

"Sometimes early on teams will focus on strategy and offense too much," Paulson said. "We want to focus on small things like blocking out, making free throws, and jump-stops and we will be fine because our players know how to play."
