No. 17 Carroll WBB claims road win over UP

HELENA, Mont. -- Dani Wagner scored a game-high 22-points, pulled down a career-high 13 rebounds and the No. 17-ranked Carroll College Fighting Saints defeated Providence 64-62 in Great Falls, Montana, on Saturday evening.

The Saints (14-6, 6-2 Frontier Conference) trailed by four entering the final quarter but outscored the Argonauts (12-8, 3-5) 25-19 to close out the game.

The Saints grabbed the lead when Dani Wagner sunk a three-pointer with about a minute left, giving Carroll a 59-58 lead. Another Wagner bucket pushed the lead to three before the Argonauts responded with a score by Bailey Cartwright, who led her team in scoring with 17.

Christine Denny sunk 3 of 4 free throws down the stretch to close the game out. Denny finished with 12 points

It's the fifth time Wagner has scored 20 or more points this season.

Kamden Hilborn cracked double-digits in the scoring column for a second consecutive game.

The Saints are now 2-0 against Providence this season and sitting atop the Frontier with a 6-2 record.

Next week, the Saints travel to Rocky Mountain College and host Montana Western.
