HELENA, Mont. -- The Carroll College men's soccer team opens up the season with a counter against the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns on Wednesday afternoon.
It will be the first contest for the Fighting Saints, who will be looking to make an even deeper run through Cascade Collegiate Conference and look to qualify for their first national tournament.
Carroll returns a cast of familiar characters. Some of those key contributors returning are junior forward
Nick Lowrimore, junior defender
Paolo Georgiades (a 2018 honorable mention all-CCC selection), junior defender
Leo Georgiades, sophomore midfielder
Santiago Morazzani and sophomore goalkeeper Kaden Conner.
Saints coach
Doug Mello (754-457-63 career record) enters his sixth season with the program. Mello brought in a formidable freshmen class, though some may not see the field in Wednesday's early season opener.
Carroll opened its season against Lethbridge last season, too, winning that contest by a score of 3-2. The Pronghorns went 0-11-3 last season, but return both of their top scoring threats in Ellies Davies and Stephen Primeau.
Carroll and Lethbridge kickoff at 4 p.m. in Nelson Stadium. The game will be live-streamed on
Carroll's YouTube page.
