HELENA, Mont. -- Carroll College will play host to the third annual Hoops for a Cause camp on Saturday, August 3. The Fighting Saints will partner with coaches and players around the Frontier Conference to fundraise for this year's beneficiary, Jack Racicot.Â
"Hoops for a Cause is a great opportunity for our coaches and players to step up, come together and share their love of the game in hopes of helping someone in need in our communities," Saints coach
Rachelle Sayers said. "This is our third year and the Helena community has really stepped up. I hope that we can fill the gym and support Jack."
Racicot became paralyzed after a snowboarding accident this past winter. As he continues to rehabilitate, Hoops for a Cause has aimed to assist him with his medical bills. The charity event has already raised $7,000.Â
Hoops for a Cause partnered with the YMCA of Helena to ensure kids can participate in camps at the YMCA and still attend Saturday's clinic.Â
The camp costs $25 to attend and can be paid at the door. The camp will include a bike donation, Blizzards from Dairy Queen, t-shirts courtesy of Universal Athletic, a gift from adidas and a post-camp meal.Â
The camp begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday and runs until noon for kids grades K-4 and then from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. for grades 5-8.Â
