HELENA, Mont. -- Mother Nature won on Senior Day.
The Carroll College Fighting Saints were scheduled for a Senior Day doubleheader against the University of British Columbia on Saturday, but a downpour dampened the field enough at Centennial Park that play was suspended partway through the first inning.
After a 30-minute postponement, UBC and CC agreed to cease play.
Carroll had swept UBC on Friday, 6-1 and 6-3.
The Saints moved their Senior Day ceremony inside the PE Center and honored seniors
TJ Rucker,
Tianna Sell,
Brittany Smith,
Ashley Davis and
Tess Eaton. Players were joined by their families and friends to celebrate their accomplishments.
The Saints now sit in the fifth spot of the CCC with three games to play (and a potential resumption of Saturday's contest, should it affect playoff standings).
Carroll (16-21, 9-14 Cascade) travels to Providence (7-22, 7-16) next weekend for a four-game series against the Argonauts.
