HELENA, Mont. -- The Carroll College men's and women's golf teams will kick off their spring slate by traveling to Las Vegas, Nevada, to compete in the Minot State Invitational.
It will be the first event the Saints' golf team has played in since Oct. 1-2 when Carroll competed at Rocky Mountain College. And, depending on the weather, it may be one of the only chances the Saints get to play in a competitive environment before the conference championship in April.
"We're using this as a chance to brush the dust off," Saints coach Ben MacIntyre said. "You have to temper your expectations, knowing your reality lies at the conference championship in a month."
The men will play a 36-18 hole format, while the women will play 18-18 at Aliante Golf Club in North Las Vegas. The Saints will play in the event alongside Rocky Mountain College College, MSU-Billings, The Masters, Augustana, Westminster, UM-Crookston, Winona State, Minot State, UM-Moorhead, Chadron and Adams State.
Teeing off for the Saints men will be
Stephen Santora, who was named all-conference in the fall, Ben Gardner,
Samuel Berry,
Joseph Potkonjak and Josh Neff.
The women's team will be
Cailin Spencer,
Weslee Nehl,
Caroline Hobson,
Sydnee Nowlen and
Madison Robischon.
