HELENA, Mont. -- The Carroll College softball team hits the road for another swing through Oregon this weekend, as the Fighting Saints will take on the No. 9-ranked Oregon Tech Owls on Friday and Saturday in Klamath Falls, Oregon.

The Saints (9-12, 2-7 Cascade Collegiate Conference) will be looking to build on their success last weekend. Carroll went 3-1 against Northwest in Kirkland to notch its first conference wins of the season.

Oregon Tech (18-10, 6-3) will pose a more formidable challenge. The Owls enter on a four-game losing streak, having fallen to No. 3-ranked Southern Oregon last weekend in four consecutive games.

OIT packs a punch. The Owls are No. 3 in the NAIA in doubles (58), No. 4 in total hits (275) and No. 4 in total runs batted in (196). They average nearly one home run a game (0.8).

Carroll's offense found its rhythm last weekend, scoring 17 runs over the course of its three wins.

Freshman Amber Brewer leads the Saints in batting average at .400 and in RBI at 13.

Tess Eaton currently leads the pitching staff with a 2.49 ERA and strikeouts at 40 (5.3 average).

The games start on Friday at 2 and 4 p.m. Saturday's contests are scheduled for 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
