Carroll College women's hoops signs Kyle Olson of Three Forks

HELENA, Mont. -- Kyle Olson of Three Forks, Montana, signed a letter intent to play basketball for the Carroll College Fighting Saints on Wednesday in the PE Center.

"We are very excited to add Kyle to an already strong 2019 recruiting class," Saints coach Rachelle Sayers said. "She is a proven winner and a big-time scorer, which are two things we are really excited about. Above and beyond that, she is a great student and leader. She will fit in right away at Carroll and make an immediate impact."

Olson is a 5-foot-7 senior at Three Forks High and has helped the Wolves reach the pinnacle in Class B basketball. She's currently averaging 22.2 points, eight rebounds and four assists per game while shooting 83 percent from the foul line. She's made 44 three-pointers.

"The girls and the atmosphere just seemed right," Olson said. "I'm excited to continue my career as a Saint."

She's a state champion at Three Forks, leading the Wolves to last year's Class B championship and garnering MVP of the state tournament. She serves as the Wolves' team captain. She's earned first team all-state and all-conference honors on the hardwood.

Olson has also excelled in other sports. She was all-conference in volleyball and all-state in cross country and track and field.

Her work outside of athletics is equally impressive. She's been academic all-state the past four years. She holds a 4.11 GPA and serves as her class president.

Olson is the sixth signee in Sayers' 2019 class.

The Saints also added guard Erica Nissan of Spokane, Washington, guard Kirsten Koehnke of Salem, Oregon, guard Rakiah Grende of Bigfork, Montana, and forward Genesis Wilkinson of Spokane, Washington, and Ally Cleverly of Butte, Montana.

"Kyle is our sixth signee and all six are going to leave a mark on Carroll College and we couldn't be more excited," Sayers said. "We want to continue our tradition of winning on and off the court here at Carroll College and Kyle will continue to help us do that."
