HELENA, Mont. -- While ailments have slowed the Carroll College Fighting Saints recently, they retained a Top 10 ranking in the latest NAIA Top 25 Coaches' Poll released on Tuesday.
The Saints dropped from No. 2 to No. 7 after going 1-3 in recent weeks. The Saints were without senior starter
Matt Wyman for the majority of that stretch. Wyman exited the against Providence with a leg injury. He's expected to return this season.
The Saints also played a road contest in Havre without senior
Match Burnham after he served a one-game suspension. The short rotation and four road games led to a difficult stretch for the Saints.
The Saints still hold the top spot in the Frontier Conference and coincidentally are the highest rank team of the Frontier.
Now, No. 7 Carroll (21-5, 10-4 Frontier Conference) returns home to the PE Center this week for matchups against Montana State-Northern and No. 22 Providence. The Saints have split the season series against both teams thus far.
