HELENA, Mont. -- Carroll Volleyball's Lexi Mikkelsen receives NAIA Honorable Mention All-American honors.

Fighting Saints sophomore outside hitter Lexi Mikkelsen, was voted Honorable Mention All-American on Monday, Dec. 9th, 2019.

Mikkelsen helped lead the Saints to a 16-12 record overall and 6-6 record in the frontier.

As a starter for the Saints, Mikkelsen led all players in kills with 296 on the season. She also had the highest kills per set at 2.74 and the fourth highest hitting percentage at .215%

She also got it done on the defensive end for the Saints. Mikkelsen 47 blocks on the season, 11 solo blocks, and 36 assisted.

When asked about the award she said, "I just feel so grateful to have received both of these awards! But honestly it couldn't have been done without the help of my team and coaches".

Mikkelsen's praise of her team didn't end there. "Without our defense picking up every ball in the back row, our setters giving me the opportunity to score, and the other hitters on the net working hard to take my block there's not a chance that I would have been in this spot" she said.

This is the eighth time in the last eleven years that the Saints have had a player voted for an All-American award.
