HELENA, Mont. -- The No. 23-ranked Carroll College Fighting Saints closed the Carroll Classic with another big win, taking down Walla Walla University 93-55 on Saturday night in the PE Center.
"I just told the guys to keep sharing the ball and moving and it led to 93 points," Saints coach
Kurt Paulson told the Independent Record. "We have been pressing a little bit this season. It gets back to playing a little faster and creating some offense from defense."
Jovan Sljivancanin led all scorers with 21 points, while
Dennis Flowers III scored 18,
Shamrock Campbell had 15 and
Dane Warp scored 14.
The Saints (10-3) turned the Wolves (3-11) over 23 times, scoring 35 points off those turnovers. On the other end, the Saints took care of the ball, recording only seven turnovers.
The Saints also thrived in the paint, scoring 40 of their 93 points inside.
Carroll shot 50 percent from the field, 39 percent from deep and 74 percent from the foul line.
Walla Walla was led by Dylan and Zayne Browning, who each had a team-high 14 points.
Carroll built a 54-27 lead at halftime and retained control in the second half.
The victory became the fourth consecutive for the Saints, who next take on Concordia University of Edmonton on Jan. 2 in the PE Center.
