HELENA, Mont. -- After their 2-0 loss yesterday against Eastern Oregon, the Fighting Saints earned a 1-1 tie against the College of Idaho Yotes on Saturday in Caldwell, Idaho.
With two minutes left until halftime, the Yotes' Alexa Rierson scored off an assist from Mackenzie Malach. The Saints kept their composure and stuck to the game plan. In the 68th minute, senior
Taryn Neameyer tied the game off a pass from
McKenna Payne.
The half would end with the game tied 1-1 as Carroll tried to find a way to break the tie. The Saints kept the pressure on all game with a total of 16 shots in the game, five of which were on goal.
After the entire second half and two 15 minute overtime, neither team was able to find the back of the net. This tie puts the Saints season record at 4-5-2 overall and 1-4-1 in conference. Carroll will now prepare for their consecutive home games against Northwest Christian and Corban next weekend.
