HELENA, Mont. – The third-ranked Carroll College men's basketball team looks to sharpen their play with a road test in Billings Thursday night against Rocky Mountain.
The Fighting Saints (14-1, 3-0 Frontier Conference) are coming off a close win against Montana Tech that saw the Saints commit 26 turnovers but persevere and shoot 30-of-38 from the free throw line.
Carroll hosts a Rocky team that is 10-4 overall and 1-1 in the Frontier Conference. The Battlin' Bears' lone conference
win was a narrow 78-74 defeat against MSU-Northern.
Rocky Mountain has one of the best assist-turnover ratios in NAIA D-I, so Carroll will need to improve their giveaways in this conference matchup.
Led by junior
Dane Warp and seniors
Match Burnham and
Matt Wyman, the Saints are leading the nation in 3-pt field goal percentage (0.442) and free throw percentage (0.826).
Rocky's defense is one of the best that Carroll is scheduled to play this year, so this will be a good mid-season test for the Saints.
The game tips off at 7:30 p.m. in the Fortin Center.
