Carroll College's men's soccer team pulled out a 2-1 overtime win over Northwest Christian on Saturday in Eugene, Oregon.
Senior forward
Jose Porras found the game-winning goal of a header in the 100th minute. Porras finished a volley from senior midfielder
Alessio Georgiades off a corner.
The goal gave Carroll (3-3, 2-2) the victory in sudden-death overtime.
Goal scoring came late in the match, as both sides drew blood in the second half. Northwest struck first with a goal in the 63rd minute.
The Saints answered in the 68th minute when
Kyle Thomson put a rebound away from about 10 yards out to knot the game at one.
Once in overtime, it was the Saints who took advantage.
Carroll goalkeeper
Kaden Connor made four saves on the night.
The Saints outshot Northwest 20-12, including a 7-6 margin with shots on goal.
Carroll returns home for two games in Nelson Stadium next weekend as the Saints host Multnomah and Warner Pacific.
