HELENA, Mont. – The Carroll College softball team is back in action with four games Saturday and Sunday at the Minot State Bubble Invitational. Carroll plays on Minot State's football field under its new air-supported dome.
 
The Saints open tournament at 9 a.m. MST against Minot before playing Minnesota Crookston at 2 p.m. MST. Saturday the Saints open at 11 a.m. against Crookston before closing the tournament with Minot at 1 p.m.
 
Carroll is 4-3 after their first weekend of play. Allison Williams was stellar with a 2-1 record and a 0.70 ERA in the circle for the Saints. Offensive she brought a big punch with two home runs and a .385 batting average.
 
The Saints open the weekend with home team who is on a nine-game win streak, including seven in the bubble.
 
Five Minot batters hit better than .400, but the Beavers' pitching staff has an ERA of 4.58. MSU closed out last weekend with a pair of wins over the University of Providence 8-7 and 14-5.
 
Crookston is 2-4 on the season and dropped one to Providence in their last game 5-1.
 
Two Crookston players average over .400, but the pitching staff has been inconsistent, allowing 58 hits and 30 runs in just six games.
