La GRANDE, Ore. – The Carroll College women's soccer team dropped the first Cascade Conference match in nearly two years Friday when they lost 2-0 to Eastern Oregon on the road at the Mountie Soccer Field in La Grande.
The Mounties and Saints closed the first half scoreless but the Saints outshot the Mounties 5-1. The script would flip in the second half. Eastern Oregon outshot Carroll 7-2 after the break.
EOU capitalized in the 60th minute with a goal from Natalie Mitchell. In the 73rd minute, they added another score from Nan Kiebert to go up 2-0. The Saints couldn't respond and fell for the first time in Cascade Conference play since Oct. 5, 2015.
The Saints will hope to rebound tomorrow with a game against Warner Pacific tomorrow in Portland. The game is slated for 11 p.m. MDT.
