HELENA, Mont. – Carroll College women's soccer jumped to a 2-0 lead but Corban rallied back to score two second half points and earn a 2-2 draw Friday in snowy conditions at Nelson Stadium.
The Saints got on the board in the 20th minute with a goal from
Talya Vaira on the rebound on a shot from
Madison Apsey.
In the second half,
Charly Clements added a goal in the 51st minute on a cross from
Payton Netz.
The Saints appeared to be in complete control before Corban scored a pair of goals in the final 25 minutes of the game. Lexi McQueary scored in the 67th minute and Holly Moorman added the equalizer on a through ball goal in the 86th minute.
The two teams were even in shots with 13 but the Carroll had eight shots on goal to six for Corban.
Weather made an impact as snow accumulation in the first half slowed the pace of the game considerably.
Carroll is now 4-2-1 on the year and Corban is now 5-3-1.
The Saints take on Northwest Christian Saturday at 2 p.m. at Nelson Stadium. The Beacons fell to Providence 3-2 Friday in Great Falls.
