KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – No. 25 Oregon Tech softball swept Carroll College Sunday in Cascade Conference doubleheader. The Owls used an eight-run second inning to top Carroll 11-7 in game one before building a 5-0 lead in game two en route to a 6-4 win.
In game one, the Saints scored four runs in the first inning and two in the second to build a 6-2 lead, but the Owls answered with eight runs in the bottom of the second to go up 10-6.
Carroll answered with a run in the fifth, but the Owls countered with an insurance run of their own and held on for the 11-7 win.
Carroll outhit OIT 13-9 but left five runners on base.

Ashley Davis were all 3-4 for the game, and
Tianna Sell notched three RBIs to lead the way.
In the second game, OIT scored a run in the first, two in the second and two in the third to build a 5-0 lead. The Saints finally got on the board with two runs in the fourth, but Oregon Tech answered with a run in their half of the inning to extend the lead to 6-2.
Carroll scored a pair of runs in the top of the seventh, but it was not enough to overcome the deficit.
Eight players tallied hits for the Saints and Carroll left five on base.
The Saints and Owls complete the four-game series tomorrow with a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. Pacific time. The first game of the doubleheader will be considered a conference game while the second will be non-conference.
